Halfway Houses
Halfway houses can play a vital role in an addicts or alcoholics life.
I picked a guy up name Ryan who was in a local detox center.
This young man was in tremendous pain physically due to a handicap,
mentally because he was so used to getting high and left with not much,
emotionally because he had burned many bridges, and spiritually because he had
lost all hope in a God.
He worked the program that was before him. He became a leader in one of the homes.
He now works in the same office building as I do and he has over 8 months clean.
He did it and he did it in a halfway house because he was ready.
I do not recommend someone who is coming right from detox to go straight into
a halfway house but if that is the only option, then start somewhere.
